A little care after training helps preserve your gear’s fit, fabric and finish. Follow the instructions below for rash guards, fight shorts and BJJ gis, and always check your garment’s care label first.
Choose a cold wash cycle
Reduce friction against the printed surface
Help protect the fabric, fit and graphics
Give your gear time to dry naturally
VHTK garments use different materials and finishes, including sublimated graphics and embroidery. Follow the instructions for your specific item whenever they differ from this general guide. Good care helps reduce wear, but it does not make fabric shrink-proof or prevent every change in appearance. If you are unsure about an instruction, contact VHTK with the product name and a photo of its care label.
Turn it inside out and wash cold on a gentle cycle, following the label. Use the recommended amount of detergent and avoid fabric softener. Air dry before your next session to help preserve the stretch and printed finish.
Empty any pockets if your model has them, then turn the shorts inside out. Wash cold with similar colors and follow the label’s instructions. Air dry completely, checking that the waistband and inner panel are dry before packing them away.
Wash the jacket and pants in cold water with similar colors, then hang both pieces to dry. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Pre-shrunk fabric can still shrink, so avoid using heat to adjust the fit.
Take damp gear out of your gym bag as soon as possible. Wash after each training session and let it dry fully. If you cannot wash it immediately, hang it up to air out. Avoid adding extra detergent or fabric softener to cover the smell.
Rinse fresh blood with cold water before washing. Gently shake off loose chalk or dry residue. For remaining marks, use a fabric-compatible detergent or treatment according to its instructions and your garment label. Test treatments on a hidden area first and avoid scrubbing printed graphics.
